What does UK Copyright and Photography mean for you?

Copyright is a term that you will often see pop up. But what does UK Copyright and Photography mean for you? Why is it so important? I hope that this short blog post will help explain some of those complicated terms. What is UK Copyright? Copyright protects work created by an individual living in the UK. It prevents individuals or companies from stealing creative work. In the UK Copyright is automatically granted to the first individual who created the art. Why is it important to know what Copyright means? Copyright is taken very seriously within the UK. It is important to know exactly who owns copyright and what you can do with your photos. This is to protect both myself as the photographer but my clients too. What does it mean when it says ‘Emily Munday Photography is the Copyright owner’? In short this means that I own the Copyright…

Home is where the art is! Charli – Romany’s newborn photos

“Home is where the art is” Although I would love to say this statement is SO true I often find that it isn’t. In the days of modern technology it is SO easy to snap and photo and then forget about it. Wouldn’t it be great if every fabulous memory we had could be displayed proudly on the walls of our homes? I promise as I am writing this I know that I too am guilty. It is only very recently that I have started to invest in family portraits in Plymouth. It is so easy to put off having photos for another week. And those weeks turn into months and years and before we know it our tiny babies are toddlers! Check out my blog containing photos of our most recent family session with the fantastic Imogen photography! And even now as I look at these photos I know…

I focus on making my little sitter sessions really simple and fully family orientated. These sisters are just too sweet together! Doesn’t she have gorgeous eyes? Baby blue photos in Plymouth with Logan

Baby blue photos in Plymouth are so fun! Little Logan was SO precious and he slept beautifully during his baby photo session in the studio. I love being able to capture all of the tiny baby wrinkles. Getting your newborn in the studio within those first 21 days means that we can capture them when they are still so new and fresh! I love asking parents where they would like to display their baby photos after a session. This helps me plan a really special session for you. This session was all about celebrating that he was a little boy and using those beautiful pastel blue tones. Parent shots are so important. I know it can seem a little scary to get behind the camera but I promise you it is worth it. When your little one looks back on their timeline of photos they are going to treasure the…

Plymouth first time parents: 3 things you didn’t know about newborns!

Plymouth first time parents – it can be such a daunting time having a new baby join your family. There is so much that is unknown and Google has too many answers to choose from! Here are 3 things that I have learnt over my time being a parent (learn more about me here) and from being a baby photographer in Plymouth. 1. Babies LOVE noise! It is so easy to creep around the house when you have your tiny baby settled. But did you know that your baby has just spent 9 months in a very noisy womb? Every time your heart beats your baby can hear it. And every time you talk your baby can hear you. Your baby is very used to sleeping through noise and being moved around. This is often why newborns sleep so well when they are in the car. They are nice and…
