Why are family portraits so important? Plymouth baby and family photography

Plymouth baby and family photography is one of my favourite genres of photography. Although I LOVE baby photos – those family portraits are really the most precious. So why are family portraits so important? Family photos are TIMELESS. They are the perfect way to document your growing family. These photos you will truly treasure forever. And when you are gone your children and grandchildren will treasure them too. In all of my baby photo shoots in Plymouth I make sure to include family photos at the end of the studio session. I understand that sometimes it can be a little scary having your portrait taken. (There is a reason why I like to stand behind the camera!!!) I promise you that it will be worth it! I still believe the best photos are achieved when you are giving your baby a big cuddle! Every year I too invest in family…

Evie’s pink princess baby session in Plymouth

Evie was a little star for her pink princess baby session in Plymouth! I love it when we can tie in pinks and purples for a really special newborn session! I was so excited to use this new backdrop fabric. It is lace draped over a dark pink fabric. All babies are posed on my beanbag in the Plymouth studio. There is a heated blanket under the layers of fabric to keep them nice and warm! Beanbag shots are my favourite. It gives us the chance to really focus in on their tiny little features. Evie slept so well! I often get parents worrying about their babies skin before a session. Please don’t worry! It is totally normal for babies to have flakey skin or some spots appearing. All of this can be edited out in post production. I can discuss this further with you during your baby photo shoot.…

Safety in baby photography in Plymouth

Safety in baby photography in Plymouth is the MOST important topic I will ever write about. You will often see me blog about it. Newborn photography in Plymouth is beautiful when it is done safely. I am going to share with you a few examples of behind the scenes Plymouth newborn photos. I have a Plymouth photography studio based in the heart of Plymouth, PL4. It is specially designed for little people under the age of one. This photograph from Evan’s studio session was created by merging two images together. When a baby is posed on a prop they always need to have an adult holding their head to keep them safe. Evan was settled in a deep sleep and was posed in my wooden bucket. Dad helped during this setup and I edited him out of the image in post production. This young lady was one of the oldest…
